Hi everyone,
I’ve been dealing with some minor insect activity in my home, and I started wondering if lowering the room temperature would actually make a difference. I’ve heard that bugs are less active in colder environments, but I’m not sure how true that is in a normal household setting.
I’m not expecting it to completely solve the problem, but if it could at least slow them down or reduce activity, it might be worth trying alongside other methods.
Has anyone experimented with this before? Did lowering the temperature actually help, or is it not noticeable?
Colder temps can slow them down, but it usually won’t eliminate them.
Yeah most insects become less active in cooler conditions, but they don’t just disappear.
I tried lowering the temp once and it reduced activity a bit, especially at night.
@FixFlowJordan exactly. It’s more of a slowdown than a solution.
Some bugs will just hide and wait until it warms back up again.
It might help short-term, but you still need to deal with the source.
Lower temps plus cleaning worked better for me than temperature alone.
@CoolAirNate same here. Temperature helped a little, but not enough by itself.
Also depends on the type of insect. Some are more tolerant to cold than others.
Good support method, but definitely not something to rely on alone.
