Will Human Urine Repel Moles?

Hey everyone!
I’ve been doing some reading about natural pest repellents, and I came across a claim that human urine can repel moles from gardens. I found it fascinating since many people are always looking for eco-friendly ways to keep pests away.

I haven’t tried human urine specifically, but I know people have used dog urine with some success. It makes sense that the scent could deter moles, but I’m curious how effective human urine would be.

I’ve heard that using your own urine is a bit of an urban legend. I mean, how much would you really have to use? Plus, wouldn’t the smell be off-putting for us as well???

Interesting topic! I did some digging and found a study that suggested some animals could be deterred by urine scents, but it didn’t specifically mention moles. I think the effectiveness might depend on how strong the scent is and how moles react to it.

That’s a good point! It might vary by species, too. I wonder if there’s another study focusing on moles?

If you’re looking for alternatives, I’ve had success with castor oil. Mixing it with water and applying it to the ground can repel moles. Plus, it smells a lot better than urine!

I’ve heard about castor oil, but does it really work? How long does it last before you have to reapply?

Using urine raises some hygiene concerns for me. What if it attracts other pests or even stray animals? I think that could be a downside worth considering.

Exactly! And what about if it rains? Wouldn’t that wash away the effectiveness?

Thanks for all the input, everyone! It seems like there’s a lot of mixed opinions on this. I’ll definitely consider other options besides urine, especially if they’re more effective and safer.

Yeah, I think a combination of repellents might be the best approach. Good luck keeping those moles away!
