Hey everyone,
I’ve got a question that’s been bugging me for a while. Over the last couple of weeks, I keep seeing one roach at a time in random spots around my house. Never a group, never more than one—just a single roach showing up every few days.
Hey everyone,

Seeing just one doesn’t automatically mean you’re in trouble, but in my experience, they rarely travel alone. I’d check the kitchen and bathroom areas first.
Same thing happened to me last year. I’d spot one every few days… turned out there were more hiding under the sink. Not a full infestation, but definitely not random.
Sometimes it really is a lone wanderer. Especially if you live in an apartment or older home. They sneak in through shared walls or pipes.
I agree with @NeonStaircase , for me it was a few single sightings before I realized they were coming in at night from a gap near the dishwasher.
If you’re seeing them during the day, that’s more concerning. They usually hide well, so daytime sightings can mean they’re getting crowded.
Check food storage areas and any damp corners. Roaches love moisture more than anything else.
@BrickHouseJay Makes a good point. Kitchens and bathrooms are the main hubs. That’s where I’d start your little investigation.
I had a similar pattern, just one roach every couple days. I tightened up my trash routine and cleaned behind appliances, and the sightings stopped.
You might also want to look for tiny droppings or shed skins. Single sightings can turn into more if there’s food or warmth attracting them.
Jumping in because I went through this recently. For me, it wasn’t an infestation, just a couple wandering in through a basement door gap. Sealed the gap, problem solved.
