What’s the General Pricing for Roach and Flea Treatments?

Hey everyone!

I’m trying to get a rough idea of what people usually pay for roach and flea treatments. I’ve seen a huge range of prices online and from local companies, and it’s hard to tell what’s reasonable and what’s overpriced.

This would be for a regular home—not massive, but not tiny either. I’m especially curious about the difference between one-time treatments and ongoing plans, and whether roach and flea services are usually priced very differently.

If you’ve paid for treatment before, I’d really appreciate hearing what you were quoted and what actually worked.

Prices vary a lot by region, but for roaches I usually see initial treatments priced higher than follow-ups, especially if it’s a heavy infestation.

I paid less for flea treatment than roaches, mostly because fleas required more vacuuming and prep on my end instead of repeated chemical treatments.

For my house, roach treatment cost more upfront but fewer visits. Fleas needed multiple treatments spread out over time.

@BudgetBugBuster If you’re renting, check if your landlord is responsible for roach treatment. That saved me a lot of money.

Ongoing service plans can seem expensive, but they’re sometimes cheaper than repeated one-off visits if the problem keeps coming back.

I went DIY at first to save money, but ended up calling professionals anyway. In hindsight, I probably should’ve started with a professional plan.

Flea treatments can also include pet-related costs. Vet meds plus home treatment add up quickly.

@VetTechAmy That’s a good point, I didn’t even think about vet costs being part of the total.

@HomeownerMike Did your pricing change based on house size? I’ve heard square footage makes a big difference.

@SafetyFirstSteve Yes, size mattered a lot. Larger homes were quoted higher, especially for flea treatments that covered carpets and multiple rooms.
