Hey folks,
I’ve been reading a lot about using boric acid with sugar for ants, but every source seems to say something slightly different. I’m less worried about whether it works and more about doing it wrong — like making it too strong or not attractive enough.
For those who’ve tried it before, what mistakes should people avoid? And how do you tell if ants are actually taking it back instead of ignoring it?
Biggest mistake I see is people thinking stronger = better. That usually backfires.
If they swarm it for a day and then vanish overnight, that’s not always a good sign.
@AntTrailNotes Interesting, I would’ve assumed that meant success.
The goal isn’t instant results. If it works, it feels slow and almost boring.
Placement matters more than people think. Wrong spot = zero interest.
Watch their behavior. If they hesitate, turn around, or die nearby, something’s off.
@KitchenLineScout Exactly. People get impatient and overdo it.
This method rewards patience. Anyone expecting same-day results will be disappointed.
I learned more from watching what didn’t work than what did.
Once I stopped tweaking it constantly, that’s when progress finally showed.
