Hi everyone,
Lately I’ve been noticing a lot of tiny jumping bugs around parts of my home, especially near windows, the patio door, and sometimes in the bathroom. After looking into it a bit, I think they might be springtails. They’re really small but there seem to be a lot of them all of a sudden.
I’m guessing moisture might be part of the problem because the areas where I see them most often are slightly damp or close to outside walls. I’ve tried wiping the areas down and improving airflow, but they keep appearing.
Has anyone here dealt with a sudden increase in springtails? What actually helped reduce them long term?
Springtails usually show up when there’s too much moisture around the house.
I had them near my bathroom window last year after a humid season.
@EmmaClarke Same situation here, especially around window frames.
Drying out the area helped me a lot more than sprays.
They also showed up around my patio door where water sometimes collects.
Check for small leaks or condensation near those spots.
Dehumidifiers made a big difference in my basement.
@GarageFox82 I’ve heard a lot of people mention that solution.
Once I improved ventilation and cleaned regularly, their numbers dropped.
They can appear suddenly but usually go away once the moisture issue is fixed.
