Rodent Control Products – Which Ones Are Worth Buying?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been researching rodent control products lately, and honestly, the number of options is overwhelming.

There are snap traps, enclosed traps, electronic traps, live traps, bait stations, repellents… and every product claims to be the best.

Before I spend more money testing things myself, I’d like to hear from people who have actually used them.

A few questions:

  • Which rodent control products actually worked for you?

  • Which ones weren’t worth the money?

  • If you had to start over today, what would you buy first?

  • Did you find one product was enough, or did you end up using a combination?

I’m looking for honest experiences rather than marketing claims.

I’ve tried several types over the years. For indoor mice, enclosed traps have been the easiest to manage and reset.

Snap traps still work, but I found placement was much more important than the trap itself.

Electronic traps surprised me. They’re more expensive up front, but mine required a lot less maintenance than I expected.

@PriceCheckPete I had the same experience. I hesitated because of the price, but it ended up saving me time.

Glue boards caught a few mice for me, but I stopped using them. They weren’t the right fit for my situation.

Outdoor bait stations helped reduce activity around my shed, but I still needed traps inside the garage.

For me, the winning combination was sealing entry points first and then placing traps along the walls where they were actually traveling.

If I were starting over, I’d skip buying a bunch of cheap products and invest in one dependable trap system along with sealing up entry points. That combination finally gave me long-term results.
