Hey everyone!
I’m dealing with a rat problem right now, and honestly the part that bothers me most is the cleanup.
Are there trap options that don’t require you to directly touch the rodent when disposing of it? I’d prefer something more hygienic, especially since this is happening indoors.
For those who’ve handled this before, what worked best if avoiding contact was the top priority?
Covered traps are usually better if you want to avoid direct contact.
Electronic-style traps tend to keep everything contained inside the unit.
@SafeHomeSara Do they still require you to reset them manually after each catch?
Some models do, but others are designed to be more hands-off, which reduces how often you interact with them.
That was my main concern too. I didn’t want to see or touch anything during disposal.
For indoor use, enclosed designs feel much more sanitary overall.
I switched from traditional snap traps because I hated dealing with exposed catches. The enclosed automatic ones felt way more manageable.
@BudgetBlake Did you notice a difference in ease of cleanup compared to snap traps?
Definitely. Less visibility and less direct handling made the whole process less stressful.
If minimizing contact is your priority, enclosed or automatic traps are probably the way to go.
