Hi folks,
I’m dealing with what looks like pharaoh ants in my condo, and I’m honestly at a loss. They’re tiny, show up in random rooms, and disappear just as fast. I’ll clean one area and then suddenly they’re in a totally different spot the next day.
Living in a condo makes this extra frustrating since I don’t control the whole building. I’m trying to understand what actually works with these ants and what just makes things worse. Anyone else been through this?
Pharaoh ants are rough in multi-unit buildings. They never feel contained.
The random room hopping is what gave it away for me. They don’t behave like normal ants.
@TinyButPersistent Exactly, one day it’s the kitchen, next day it’s the bathroom sink.
In condos, it’s rarely just your unit. They move through walls and shared plumbing.
Short-term fixes usually backfire with these. They adapt fast.
I started paying attention to patterns instead of reacting every time I saw a few.
@BuildingVet That’s been my experience too. Once neighbors got involved, things improved.
Panicking made me overdo it at first. Slowing down actually helped.
Cleanliness helps, but it’s not the root cause with this species.
Unfortunately, these ants are more about coordination and patience than quick wins.
