Mouse Traps vs Poison — Which Is Better for Long-Term Control?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to decide which approach makes more sense for long-term mouse control.

I’ve always used snap traps because I like knowing exactly when I’ve caught a mouse, but several neighbors keep telling me that poison bait is easier since you don’t have to check traps as often.

On the other hand, I’ve heard stories about mice dying inside walls, bad odors, and concerns about pets or wildlife getting into poisoned rodents.

For those who’ve tried both methods:

  • Which one worked better over the long run?
  • Did poison actually reduce mouse activity faster?
  • Are traps more reliable if you’re willing to check them regularly?
  • If you had to start over today, which method would you choose?

I’d appreciate hearing real experiences rather than just reading product descriptions.
