I’m starting this thread to discuss and compare some of the top rat trap brands available in the USA. Given the increasing number of issues with rodents in urban areas, I think it’s important to have a clear understanding of what products work best.
Over the years, I’ve tried various traps, from traditional snap traps to more modern electric ones. There are so many options out there, and each brand claims to be the most effective. However, the effectiveness can vary widely based on the type of trap, the bait used, and even the placement.
I’ve had great luck with Victor traps! They’re reliable and easy to set up. What about you all?
I agree, @SafePawsOnly! Victor traps have some of the best reviews. However, I’ve had a few issues with them being a bit sensitive and going off with no rat around. Anyone else face that?
I had that problem too! I switched to the Tomcat brand, and they work like a charm without false triggers. Plus, they’re a bit cheaper!

I had a rat infestation last winter and tried a variety of traps. The most effective for me were the snap traps with peanut butter. It was messy, but it worked!
Peanut butter is a classic! I’ve also had success with Nutella, believe it or not. It seems to attract them better than other bait.
