Lizards in the House

Hey everyone!

I’ve been dealing with an odd issue lately—small lizards keep showing up inside my house. Most of the time I find them near windows or around the kitchen, and it’s happening often enough that it’s starting to bother me.

I know lizards aren’t usually dangerous, but I really don’t want them indoors. I’m guessing they’re coming in through small gaps or following insects inside, but I’m not sure where to start fixing the problem.

Has anyone figured out an effective way to keep lizards out of the house for good?

You’re definitely not alone. Ants can be persistent because killing the ones you see doesn’t always affect the nest.

I felt the same way last summer. What finally helped was switching from sprays to bait and giving it time.

Sprays made things worse for me. It seemed like every time I sprayed, they popped up somewhere else.

@DIYDude56 That’s exactly what’s happening here. I thought I was imagining it.

Different ant species need different approaches. Without knowing which kind they are, it can feel like nothing works.

Long-term control usually means baiting plus sealing entry points. It’s more of a process than a one-time fix.

@purrfect_home Are you noticing them more after rain or temperature changes? That pattern helped me narrow things down.

Outdoor factors matter a lot. Ants nesting near the foundation kept reinvading my house until I dealt with that.

@SafetyFirstSteve Yeah, now that you mention it, they definitely spike after rain.

It’s frustrating, but you can get them under control. It’s usually about consistency and patience—not quick fixes.
