How to Set a Gopher Trap: Tips and Tricks

I dug down to the main run instead of side pockets and got my best results yet. Seems they favor the straight route.

@GopherGuru Nice combo, I’ll try peanut butter next time. I’ve been using just raw carrot, but think it needs more stick to hold.

I tip-trim my trap edges to make them sharper, it increases success rate, but definitely not for the squeamish.

Lay a tiny thin layer of soil over the tunnel to guide them into your set trap, it hides the trap entrance well without blocking it.

@TunnelTracker Big yes on the gloves tip, had a close call last season. Safety first, always!

Crushed bird seed mixed with a bit of peanut butter is another solid bait I swear by, works especially well in spring.
