How to Know if Your Ultrasonic Pest Repeller is Working?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been using an ultrasonic pest repeller in my home for the past few months to deal with a pesky rodent issue. I’ve done some research, and while I’ve heard mixed reviews about their effectiveness, I’m still unsure how to confirm if mine is actually working.

Ultrasonic pest repellers emit high-frequency sound waves that are said to deter pests such as mice, rats, and even insects. They are marketed as a humane and chemical-free solution, which sounds great. However, I haven’t seen much change in the pest activity in my house, and I’m starting to question if it’s doing anything at all.

Hey MousePatrol! Great question. One sign to look for is a decrease in the number of sightings or droppings. Also, if you notice fewer pests scurrying around, that’s a good indication.

I’d say give it at least a month before you start evaluating its effectiveness. Sometimes it takes time for the pests to vacate.

It’s also worth considering that the ultrasonic waves might not penetrate walls well, so if you have a large house, it might not cover the entire area effectively.

Thanks for the insight, SafePawsOnly! I do have a multi-level home, so that could be an issue. Any tips on placement?

Try placing them in areas where you’ve noticed the most activity. Corners and near entry points are great spots.

I’ve had mixed results too. My dog seems to be unaffected, but I did notice fewer bugs in the kitchen after a couple of weeks.

That’s interesting! I’ve heard that some pets can hear the frequencies and might become agitated. Have you noticed any changes in your dog’s behavior?

I’m not convinced these things actually work. I tried one and still had mice. I ended up going with traps instead.

That’s a bummer, purrfect_home. I’m curious, what made you decide to go with traps instead?
