Does anyone have advice on how to kill mice without harming pets? I have a cat, and I don’t want to use anything that could hurt her.

I’ve had the same problem! One solution is to use humane traps to catch the mice and then release them far away from your home.

cleaning up food and sealing entry points are crucial! Also, use peppermint oil as a deterrent. Mice hate the smell.

humane traps are great, but sometimes mice come back. Any tips on making sure they stay away?

I’ve used electronic mouse repellents before. They’re supposed to emit sounds that only mice can hear, which makes them leave. They don’t affect my dog at all.

I’ve been using snap traps but placing them in areas my pets can’t access, like behind the refrigerator or in the attic. How safe is this method for pets?

@TOToAvery that’s a good temporary solution. Just make sure the traps are in spots your pets absolutely can’t reach, even if they get curious.

You can try setting traps with entryways too small for pets but perfect for mice.

I’ve heard of using natural predators like barn owls if you live in a rural area, but obviously, that’s not an option for everyone.

Anyone ever used peppermint oil spray? I heard it can deter mice, but I’m worried it might bother my dog. Any experiences?

@SophiaRoberts
I use peppermint oil around the house, and my cats don’t seem to mind. Just be careful not to spray too much.

Essential oils can be potent. Diluting them before use is a safer option.

peppermint oil works well, but don’t overdo it. Some pets might be sensitive to strong scents.

Consider sealed bait stations if you’re okay with poison. They keep pets out but still kill mice. Make sure they’re tamper-proof."

Yes! I dilute it and place it strategically where my pets can’t reach.
