Hey everyone!
I’ve recently encountered a rather unusual problem – I keep finding frogs in my toilet! This has happened a few times now, and I’m honestly at my wits’ end. I’ve read that frogs are attracted to moisture and can get into your home through various openings, but I’m not sure how to tackle this issue effectively.
I can’t believe this is happening! I found another frog in my toilet this morning. I think I need to take action before this gets out of control. Anyone else had this issue?
Hey IHeartMice! It’s actually more common than you’d think. Frogs look for water, and your toilet is just a big inviting pool. Here are a few tips for prevention:
- Seal any cracks around your plumbing.
- Install a toilet lid if you don’t already have one.
- Keep your yard clear of standing water.
As for removal, you can use a net to catch them and release them outside. Just be gentle!
Those are great tips, NatureLover64! I also read that frogs are attracted to insects. If you have a lot of bugs around your toilet, that might be a factor. Try to minimize outdoor lighting, or use bug repellent plants in your garden.
Absolutely, HomeHelper! I recommend planting marigolds or using citronella candles. They do a great job at keeping unwanted pests (and frogs) at bay. Also, make sure your home doesn’t have any moisture leaks – that can attract frogs too!
I had a similar issue last summer. To remove the frogs, I used a small bucket and gently scooped them up. I watched a YouTube video that showed how to catch them without hurting them. Just make sure to wear gloves!
NightFlyer3, that’s a great idea! Also, did you know that some frogs can actually help with pest control? If you can relocate them to a nearby pond, it could be beneficial for the ecosystem, too. Just be mindful of the distance you take them away so they don’t try to come back!
