As someone with severe allergies to both rodents and traditional pest control chemicals, I’m stuck between sneezing fits and rat invasions! After a rat nest triggered my asthma attack, I need solutions that don’t swap one allergen for another.
My nightmare attempts:
Sealed electric traps, kill instantly without releasing dander. Wipe with HEPA-grade disinfectant wipes after use. My allergist approved!
Enclosed live traps with washable silicone liners. No skin contact during release! Pre-soak traps in vinegar to neutralize urine enzymes.
Tea tree oil-soaked cotton balls in rat paths, antimicrobial and repellent. Test on a patch first; my sister swelled up like a tomato, but I’m fine!
Ultrasonic emitters on 38kHz frequency, rats hate it, humans/hearing-safe pets can’t detect it.
Spray enzyme cleaners BEFORE sweeping. It denatures urine proteins so they don’t become airborne. Wear an N95 + goggles. OSHA-approved for hypersensitive folks!
@CleanFreakMD Seal contaminated areas with shellac-based primer before cleaning. Traps allergens under a plastic-like barrier. HGTV hates it, but my lungs don’t!
