How Long Does It Really Take to Get Rid of Fleas in a House?

I’m currently dealing with fleas in my house and trying to stay realistic about how long this process actually takes. I’ve started cleaning, vacuuming, and treating affected areas, but it already feels like it’s going to be a longer battle than I expected.

Some people say a couple of weeks, others say it can take months depending on the situation.

So I’m curious:

  • How long did it take you to fully get rid of fleas?

  • Did you go through cycles where they seemed gone but came back?

  • What made the biggest difference in speeding things up?

Trying to set expectations and avoid getting discouraged halfway through.

For me it took about 3–4 weeks before things really improved.

It comes in waves because of the life cycle, so don’t expect instant results.

@DustRoutineElla Exactly. Eggs hatch later, so it feels like they’re coming back.
