How do you actually get rid of fleas? What finally worked for you?

Hey everyone,
I’ve been dealing with fleas for what feels like forever, and I’m honestly exhausted. I’ve tried flea sprays, vacuuming nonstop, washing pet bedding, and even a fogger once — but they keep coming back.

At this point, I’m less interested in “quick fixes” and more curious about what actually worked long-term.
Was it treating the pets differently? Repeating treatments? Professional help?
If you’ve finally beaten fleas, I’d love to hear what made the real difference for you.

What finally worked for me was consistency. Daily vacuuming for two weeks straight, especially baseboards and couches. It was annoying, but it broke the cycle.

Treating the house without treating the pets didn’t work at all. Once my dog was on vet-prescribed flea meds, things improved fast.

@EcoWarrior fleas have stages. Killing adults isn’t enough, you have to keep treating long enough for eggs to hatch and die too.

I skipped foggers after one bad experience. Instead, I used a residual spray along baseboards and under furniture and repeated it after 14 days.

Laundry was huge. Every blanket, cushion cover, pet bed — hot wash, hot dry. Anything I couldn’t wash got sealed in bags for weeks.

Honestly? Fleas don’t disappear overnight. It took about a month before I stopped seeing them completely.

@SafePawsOnly Same here. Over-the-counter pet treatments failed for me. Vet meds plus home treatment finally synced things up.

Most people spray too high. Fleas live low — carpets, cracks, pet resting spots. Once I focused there, results were way better.

I hired a professional after DIY attempts stalled. Expensive, but paired with pet treatment, it worked when nothing else did.

The biggest lesson for me was patience. Fleas beat panic. A calm, repeated plan finally won.
