Hello everyone!
After spotting a mouse darting under my fridge in my downtown studio, I panicked and tried everything: peanut butter snap traps, ultrasonic repellers, even stuffing steel wool into cracks. The traps caught 2 mice, but the repellers just annoyed my cat. A neighbor swears by electronic traps, while my landlord insists on monthly exterminator sprays. What’s YOUR go-to solution for rodents in tight urban spaces? Share your wins, fails, and pet-safe hacks below!
Got a rescue cat, nature’s best mouser! Zero rodents since adopting Whiskers. Landlord approved, and she’s cuddly.
Peppermint oil-soaked cotton balls near vents + steel wool + caulk for gaps. Non-toxic and works! No more midnight scratching.
@LindaWild How often do you reapply the oil? Weekly?
Tried glue traps, never again! Found a half-alive mouse screaming at 3 AM. Switched to humane catch-and-release cages. Guilt-free!
@EarthFriendlyTom Where do you release them? Parks? Won’t they come back?
Bucket trap with a ramp and water. Cheap, effective, but my super yelled about ‘biohazards.’ Now I use tin cat traps, no mess.
Keep your kitchen SPOTLESS. No crumbs = no mice. Use glass jars for all food. Simple but 100% effective.
Ultrasonic repellers worked… until mice partied LOUDER. Switched to old-school snap traps with bacon grease.
Predator urine granules (coyote) on my balcony. Mice think a beast lives here! Oddly, my herbs thrive too.
@CatCareGuru Where do you even buy coyote pee?
