Do You Need More Than One Bug Bomb for a Car?

Hey everyone,

I recently found some small bugs in my car, mostly around the floor mats and under the seats. I’ve been thinking about using a bug bomb to deal with them, but I’m not sure if one is enough for a vehicle or if people usually need more than one treatment.

Since cars are much smaller than rooms, part of me thinks a single bomb should do the job. But I’ve also read that insects can hide in areas like seat rails, carpets, vents, or even the trunk lining, which might make it harder for the treatment to reach everything.

For those who have tried this before, did one bug bomb work for your car, or did you end up doing multiple treatments? I’d appreciate hearing what worked best in your experience.

One was enough for my sedan, but I made sure to clean the car really well first.

Deep vacuuming before the treatment helps a lot. Otherwise bugs can still hide in crumbs and debris.

I ended up doing two treatments about a week apart because eggs hatched later.

@GarageDad89 Same thing happened to me with ants. The first bomb killed the adults but not the eggs.

Cars have lots of tight spaces like under the seat rails and in the carpet padding.

I think it depends on how bad the infestation is. Light problems usually need only one.

@DailyDriverKevin Did you remove everything from the car first? Bags, trash, and loose items can block the fog.

Also check the cabin air filter area. Bugs sometimes hide there.

I used one bomb and then aired the car out overnight with the windows open.

In most cases one bomb is enough for a car, but cleaning and proper ventilation afterward make the biggest difference.
