I don’t think they do, ChillyJim. The cold temperatures make them less active so you won’t hear them.
Actually, they can but it’s really rare. They usually go into a dormant state or die off when it gets too cold.
To add to that, their chirping is slower in colder temperatures if they manage to remain active. But most of the time, they’re silent because they’re not around.
