Hey everyone,
I’ve been reading a lot of mixed opinions lately about bug bombs, and I’m honestly confused. Some people say they work great, others say they barely do anything except leave a film on every surface in the house.
Before I even consider using one, I’m hoping to get some real experiences from people who’ve actually tried them.
I used one once and honestly, it felt like overkill. It knocked down the visible bugs, but everything hidden came right back a few days later.
They make a huge mess, that part’s definitely true. I spent longer cleaning the residue than dealing with the bugs.
If you expect it to reach cracks or tight spaces, it really won’t. The fog seems to drift around open areas and that’s about it.
@DustyRoomDweller Same here, they only seem to handle whatever’s walking around in the open. Anything tucked away doesn’t get touched at all.
I’ve noticed they don’t do much for eggs, which means new bugs show up like nothing happened.
The cleanup is what pushed me away from using them again. Every surface felt sticky afterward.
I think they only make sense if you’re dealing with a really light situation. Anything bigger just needs more thorough treatment.
@VentFanatic Yep, that’s why reinfestation happens fast. If the eggs survive, you’re basically starting over in a week or two.
I had better luck focusing on sealing gaps and cleaning problem areas instead of relying on fogging.
If you do use one, make sure you air the place out really well. The smell hangs around for a bit.
