Hi,
I’m honestly getting a bit frustrated at this point. I’ve been dealing with crazy ants around my property for almost six years now. Some seasons are better than others, but they never fully go away. I’ve tried basic sprays, cleaning up outdoor areas, and sealing some entry points, but they still seem to come back—especially around warmer months.
What makes it tricky is that they spread quickly and sometimes show up in unexpected places like the garage, patio, and even near electrical boxes outside the house. I’ve read that crazy ants can form really large colonies, which might explain why they’re so persistent.
Has anyone here actually managed to get long-term control over crazy ants? I’m curious what worked in real situations, whether it was baiting, professional help, or changing something around the house.
Six years is rough. Crazy ants are known for spreading fast once they settle in an area.
I had them for a couple of seasons and baiting helped more than sprays.
@SophiaLane Same experience here. Sprays only seemed to push them somewhere else.
From what I’ve seen, crazy ants often come back if the colony network outside isn’t addressed.
They started around my outdoor AC unit first and then moved toward the garage.
I noticed they really like moist areas around the house.
@QuietFixer Yes, after I fixed a drainage issue the activity actually dropped a lot.
Some pest control companies around here recommend long-term bait strategies instead of quick treatments.
Crazy ants can be persistent because they form multiple nests, which makes them harder to eliminate.
If they’ve been around that long, it might be worth getting a professional inspection just to locate the main nesting areas.
