I’m dealing with a carpet beetle issue that seems to have taken over one bedroom. I started noticing larvae near the baseboards and then found damage to fabric items in the closet. Cleaning helped a bit, but they keep coming back.
Before I go down the wrong path, I’d love to hear what actually worked for others. Did you focus more on deep cleaning, treatment, or tracking down the source? Any long-term strategies would be appreciated.
First thing I learned was that surface cleaning alone doesn’t solve it.
A lot of people miss the closet and stored fabrics, that’s where mine were hiding.

Consistent vacuuming over a few weeks mattered more than I expected.
They can feed on things you wouldn’t think about, like lint or pet hair buildup.
I had to remove a few items completely. Once the food source was gone, activity dropped.

Whole place. Doing just one room didn’t stop them from spreading back.
After things calmed down, sealing gaps and keeping fabrics stored properly helped a lot.
This is one of those problems where patience matters, quick fixes didn’t last for me.
