Can Bug Bombs Damage Car Interiors?

Hey everyone!

I’ve been considering using a bug bomb in my car, but now I’m worried about possible damage to the interior.

Since cars have fabric seats, plastic dashboards, electronics, and tight ventilation systems, could the chemicals or residue cause staining, discoloration, or long-term wear?

Has anyone experienced interior damage after using a fogger in their vehicle?

I haven’t seen major damage, but I did notice a light residue on the dashboard afterward.

Residue can build up on plastics if you don’t wipe everything down thoroughly.

@DetailQueen That’s true. I’ve seen sticky surfaces when people skip the cleanup step.

Fabric seats worry me the most. Chemicals can linger in upholstery.

Electronics are another concern. Foggers aren’t really designed for small enclosed spaces like cars.

@DriveCleanDaily Did the label specifically mention vehicle use? Some products warn against it.

I’ve heard of minor discoloration on older plastics, but nothing dramatic.

Ventilating properly afterward makes a big difference.

The risk probably depends on the formula used and how concentrated it becomes in a small cabin.

Personally, I’d confirm the pest issue first and weigh the risk before introducing chemicals into the interior.
