Best Mouse Trap for a Garage You Don’t Check Every Day?

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice from people who’ve dealt with mice in a garage.

My garage is detached from the house, so I honestly only go in there every 2–4 days. Last week I found fresh droppings near a shelf and a couple of chewed cardboard boxes, so it’s pretty obvious I’ve got at least one mouse hanging around.

I’ve always used regular snap traps, but I’m wondering if there’s a better option for a place that doesn’t get checked every day. I’ve seen electronic traps, enclosed traps, bucket traps…there are so many choices that I’m not sure what’s actually worth buying.

For those who’ve had success:

  • What type of trap worked best?
  • Is an electronic trap worth the extra cost?
  • How many traps did you set up?
  • What bait worked best in a garage?

I’d love to hear some real experiences before I spend more money on the wrong setup.
