Gophers usually have their babies in the spring, right? I’ve seen a lot of activity around my yard lately, and I’m wondering if they’re starting to breed.

</div>

Yes, you’re correct! Most species of gophers tend to have their babies in the spring. It depends on the specific type of gopher and the climate in your area, though.

Spring is indeed the most common time for gophers. They can have more than one litter if the conditions are right, but usually, spring is the big breeding season.

</div>

Just to add, some gophers might also have a secondary breeding season in the fall. It really depends on the local environment and food availability.

I live in the northern United States, and I see a lot of gopher activity in early spring. Does anyone know how many babies they typically have?

</div>

From my experience, gophers usually have around 3-7 babies per litter. They can have multiple litters if the conditions are ideal.

</div>

That’s so true! I’ve noticed their young ones coming out around mid-spring when they start foraging for food.

</div>

Absolutely! And because they’re underground most of the time, it’s hard to monitor their exact numbers until they start emerging.

Watch for increased tunnel activity and fresh mounds in your garden. These can be signs that they’re expanding their burrows to make room for the young ones.

From what I’ve seen, gophers around my area seem to have babies in early spring, like March or April. Anyone else noticed a specific time?

</div>

Yeah, spring is prime time for gopher litters. I read they can have babies as early as February in warmer climates, but it’s usually spring for most regions.

@BackyardBuddy99 I’m with you on spring! I started seeing tiny gophers popping up in my yard around late April last year. They’re cute but such a pain for my garden!

I think it depends on the species, but pocket gophers around here definitely breed in spring. I’ve got tunnels everywhere by May. Any tips for keeping them under control?

@LawnLover Try planting some gopher-repellent plants like marigolds or using traps. As for babies, I’ve heard gophers can have multiple litters a year, starting in spring.

Spring for sure, but I’ve seen some activity suggesting a second litter around late summer in my area. Anyone else notice gophers breeding more than once a year?

I didn’t realize gophers had such a specific breeding season! I’ve been blaming my ruined flowerbeds on them all year, but spring makes sense for the baby boom.

@GreenThumbGal111 Haha, they do seem like year-round troublemakers! But yeah, most gopher babies are born in spring. You’ll see more tunnels when the young ones start digging.
