Hi folks,
I’ve had pest control services before, but I realized I never really knew what the technician was actually doing during the visit. They walk around, check a few areas, treat some spots, and leave… but what’s happening behind the scenes?

Most of the good ones spend more time inspecting than spraying. If they rush straight to treatment, that’s usually a red flag.
Ex-tech here. A proper visit starts with identifying activity and entry points, not just throwing chemicals around.
They should be checking places you don’t normally look — behind appliances, along baseboards, and exterior gaps.
In my apartment, the tech mostly focused on kitchens and bathrooms. Said moisture tells them a lot.
@BasementWatch agreed. The tech who fixed our issue asked way more questions than I expected.
@FormerTechMike That makes sense. I always wondered why some visits felt more thorough than others.
People think it’s all about chemicals, but exclusion and monitoring are a big part of it too.
Honestly, the explanation matters. When a tech explains what they’re doing, it feels way more legit.
@QuietCorners exactly. Our guy found activity behind the fridge that we never would’ve checked.
A good service feels methodical, not rushed, that’s been the biggest difference I’ve noticed over the years.
