So sick of these MF ants in my house — what actually kills them for good?

Hi all,

I’m officially at my limit. I’ve cleaned, wiped, blocked, and chased these ants for weeks, and they just keep coming back like nothing happened. Kitchen, bathroom, even the hallway — it’s nonstop.

I don’t care about quick knockdowns anymore. I want to know what actually works long-term, not just for a day or two. What finally stopped them for you? Or is this just something you’re stuck managing forever?

I feel this way too much. Killing the ones you see doesn’t even slow them down.

The key is whatever reaches the colony, not just the scouts.

I stopped seeing results only after changing how I handled food storage.

Moisture was the real issue in my case. Once that was fixed, activity dropped fast.

@BasementDweller That’s interesting, did you notice fewer ants right away or over time?

For me it took patience. Nothing worked instantly, which was super frustrating.

@TrailBreaker Exactly. If you don’t deal with what’s outside, inside fixes won’t last.

Over-cleaning actually made it worse for me at one point. They just rerouted.

Some species are basically a lifestyle problem, not a one-time fix.

Once I accepted it was a long game, things got way less stressful.
