Oriental roaches won’t go away even after pro treatment — what now?

Hi all,
I’m hoping to get some honest advice here. We’ve already had a professional treatment done for Oriental roaches, but weeks later, we’re still seeing them — mostly near the basement and drains. It’s definitely less than before, but not gone.

I’m confused about whether this means the treatment failed, or if this is just how these roaches behave. Do you wait it out, change strategies, or assume there’s something environmental being missed? Feeling stuck between “be patient” and “this isn’t working.”

Oriental roaches are stubborn. Seeing fewer after treatment usually means progress, not failure.

They’re more about moisture and harborage than just food. Basements and drains are classic.

@NotYourKitchenRoach That lines up with where we’re spotting them, unfortunately.

One treatment almost never finishes them off. It’s usually a series plus fixing conditions.

We thought our pro treatment didn’t work either, but the tech explained they migrate in from outside.

If moisture isn’t addressed, they’ll keep coming back no matter who treats it.

@BeenThroughIt same experience here. Exterior entry points mattered more than I expected.

For us, improving drainage and airflow did more than repeated chemical applications.

Oriental roaches are more about habitat than infestation — change the environment and they fade out.
