Hey everyone,
Lately I’ve been finding carpet beetle larvae all over — along baseboards, inside closets, and even near the edges of rugs. It’s honestly getting frustrating because every time I think I’ve cleaned everything, I spot more a few days later.
I’ve already tried:
It helps temporarily, but they keep coming back, which makes me feel like I’m missing something.
For those who’ve successfully dealt with this:
-
What actually worked long-term?
-
Was it more about cleaning, treatment, or finding a hidden source?
-
How long did it take before you felt they were truly gone?
For me it was all about finding the source. Cleaning alone didn’t stop them.
Same. I kept vacuuming but they didn’t fully go away until I checked stored fabrics.
@DustLayerSophie Exactly. Mine were in a box of old clothes I hadn’t opened in ages.
I had them around baseboards mostly. Deep cleaning those areas helped a lot.
Vacuuming helps, but you have to be consistent for a few weeks at least.
Check under beds and inside closets. Those hidden spots are usually the problem.
@ThreadLineAva Did you check items made of wool or natural fibers? That was my issue.
I also sealed cleaned clothes in airtight bins after washing. That stopped them from coming back.
Once I removed the source, I noticed the larvae stopped appearing within a couple weeks.
It’s really a combination — cleaning + removing the source. One without the other didn’t work for me.
