Begging for help with clover mites that won’t go away

Hi all,
I’m honestly at my breaking point and hoping someone here has dealt with this before. Clover mites have completely taken over the sunny side of my house. I wipe them up, vacuum, seal windows — and somehow they’re back the next day.

They’re not biting, but the sheer number of them is driving me nuts, especially when they leave those red streaks on walls and windowsills. I’ve read that they’re tied to outdoor conditions, but I’m clearly missing something.

They don’t live indoors long-term. Almost always coming from outside, especially if there’s grass or plants right up against the foundation.

Pulling vegetation back from the house helped more than anything I tried inside. Bare soil strip made a big difference.

Vacuum only — learned the hard way that wiping just spreads those stains everywhere.

@GreenLineMess Check south-facing walls specifically. That’s where they loved hanging out at my place.

They come in waves. Mine showed up heavy in spring and fall, then disappeared once temps shifted.

Window caulking matters more than people think. Even hairline gaps are enough for them.

I tried indoor sprays early on and it felt like a waste. Once the outdoor edge was addressed, the indoor sightings dropped fast.

@BrickAndMortar Same here. South wall + concrete patio was the worst combo.

They don’t mean your house is dirty, which was reassuring for me. It’s more about where your house sits and the landscaping.

After fixing the lawn edge and sealing gaps, it took a couple weeks, but they stopped showing up entirely.
