Set sticky traps near damp corners and check for what shows up. If you catch small insects along with centipedes, you probably have a broader infestation to tackle.
I like that centipedes are sort of nature’s pest detectives, they indicate: ‘Hey homeowner, you’ve got smaller bugs here.’ So treat the root problem instead of just squishing the centipede.
Finding a centipede here and there isn’t necessarily a disaster, but frequent sightings can point to neglected moisture, entry points or other pests. Addressing those will give you better peace of mind.
