Any of you ever witness a malfunction? Mine fizzled and made a weird smell. I threw it after one quick display.
I picked up one labeled ‘kid-friendly,’ with no sharp edges and enclosed grids. So far, no issues, but still only use when I can watch closely.
@ElectroEd That’s a solid point! I’d never thought about the UV flash, most packaging just adverts the buzz, never the bright light before.
Honestly, even the adult ones freak me out a little with that zap noise. Just gives me pause handing it to a toddler.
For outdoor BBQs, I just keep the zapper out of kids’ reach and hand out bug spray or citronella candles instead. Easier to steer them clear!
